DIPA intends to forge long lasting partnerships with as many employers as possible and to provide a comprehensive employment solution for the benefit of all.
This portal has been created as a direct attempt to counter the rising costs of hiring staff through external recruitment agencies and advertising on Seek. Employers are asked to contribute to the operational costs of maintaining the portal and employees are asked to consider the fees associated with applying for employment.
A Shortage of Qualified Staff
There is a shortage of qualified medical imaging professionals throughout most of Australia. Many metropolitan and country practices experience difficulties attracting diagnostic imaging staff and radiology providers spend a lot of money and resources on their hiring activities.
DIPA believes advertising costs, recruitment fees and the other resources required to make a successful hire can be reduced substantially. This can be achieved by using a central employment hub (portal) to inform job seekers searching for employment of their career options and presenting jobs that can applied direct to.

Unified Approach to a Shared Goal
01. Radiology providers have the option of partnering with DIPA and sharing the benefits of using the professions own employment portal.
02. Participating employers receive unlimited, low cost access to diagnostic imaging professionals seeking employment and without input from recruitment agencies.
03. There is no reliable source of data that puts a figure on how much the Australian radiology profession spends each year on using external recruitment providers. The figure however would be considerable and this negatively impacts the profitability of each radiology provider using this service.
04. Radiology providers now have a viable option of where to place their job advertisements and over time can gradually move their hiring activities to their own central employment hub that purely services the Australian radiology profession.
Existing Mode of Operation
When looking externally to employ diagnostic staff, many employers use a mix of Seek and recruitment agencies to meet their staffing requirements. Radiology providers and recruitment agencies then often target the exact same job seeker audience on Seek with the same job vacancy, but with slightly differently worded advertisements.
If the successful applicant applies direct to the employer’s job advertisement first there is nothing else to pay. Should the successful applicant applies first to the recruitment agencies advertisement the employer will incur a recruitment fee approximately 15% of the applicant’s annual salary package.

The DIPA employment portal has been created in direct response to the rising costs associated with using external recruitment agencies and Seek.
Radiology providers now have a viable option of where to place their job advertisements and over time can gradually move their hiring activities to their own central employment hub that purely services the Australian radiology profession.
DIPA will be used as a shared employment resource for all participating radiology providers and will act as a central employment hub for mutual benefit. Consider introducing DIPA into your hiring strategy and joining other radiology providers in your area also making the same choice.
